Present

Currently, Madrassa An-Noor prints the Holy Qur’an in Braille from our own softcopy at our in-house press. We also outsource some printing overseas. The Braille Qur’an is printed in six volumes, hand stitched with a blue cover, weighs eight kilograms and is packed in a bag for easy handling. The price (gift) for this full Qur’an set is R500.00 excluding postage.

The Future

There are approximately over thirty million blind Muslims in the world who dream of reading the Braille Holy Quran.

As Demand exceeds Supply, this wish is unfortunately delayed or even abandoned. We can only print a limited quantity, otherwise there is a danger of overloading. Due to erratic supply and inconsistent quality overseas, we have now decided to establish our own high volume industrial Braille press that will print over 500 copies at a time into thirty individual volumes.

We urge our donors to sponsor toward the set-up cost of our new press. Once functional, we are confident that Allah will make it possible for us to fulfill the dream of more blind persons to read the Braille Holy Quran.
