On the 28th March 2012 the students and teachers of Madrassa An-Noor for the blind were greatly honored and privileged to privately meet the Imam of the Haram of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Sheikh Maher Hamaad al-Muaiqili after he performed the Esha Salaah at Musjid-e-Hilaal in Durban.

The Imam favoured us with a private audience at Brother Nizam Akoo’s house and patiently listened to five of our students reciting the Holy Quraan in Braille. He also heard Brother Mohammed Ali of Malaysia recite a Hadith from the Sahih Bukhari regarding the revelation of the Holy Qur’an.

Upon being introduced to our institute’s out-reach program, of training Ulama and Qur’an teachers to teach the blind around the world using our specially developed Noorul Qur’an “Braille primer”, the honored Sheikh was greatly impressed and requested a personal copy , which we gladly presented to him. He also gifted our institute a beautifully boxed set of his own audio Qur’an recitals. He blessed us by making Duaa for our institute and students. May Allah Taalah reward the Imam and his host in the world and in the Hereafter. Ameen.
